Hi Family!

Welcome again to our newest 3EyedBear backstage update. Last month may have looked like not much has been done about our little community, but that's because we worked the few hours we had on our general presence on the worldwide web. So instead of building new models, we established new little outposts to get people to visit our mothership hopefully to start building bears, mice and birds.

The thing is, that during this month of communication with a lot of visitors and fellow-paperkit-friends, we realized that our website still 'shakes' a bit so the next month will probably be filled with closing the holes in our ship. Don't worry, new models will come, but the focus will be more on expanding excisting series.

Last month report
Amsterdam, september 6th, 2007, Earth-time.

Well, what did we learn? Hosting a little webworld appears to be a lot of work! We hoped for a quiet month to be doing what we love doing: building little paper characters, but we ended up answering e-mails, e-mails and e-mails.
We are still calculating how to reach out more, so we figured to go out and search for colleagues and everyone connected to the paperkitworld. We also tried to penetrate into the closed Asian community where we believe great paperbuilders can be found. This ultimately led to MySpace, an addictive place where we met nummerous new friends and great places which got us enchanted for another two weeks. We did interviews, tried to get the designworld interested in customizing and we appear in a schoolpaper, a book and a magazine.

All great, but in the end, this month delivered just one series:
E-cakes, little cakes to send around as e-cards to friends and family. And one proper model: 2Birds, which is supposed to be what its name says: 2 little birds :) And since Maarten is really short on time at the moment our plans keep on piling up :)

Near future plans

We're hesitated to predict the future but our plan remains the same: try to lift the website up to the next level. Maarten will be very busy untill half of september working to meet his deadline on Kika & Bob (animated series).
We still believe that custom designs could help bring quality to the models so we will be chasing that. Also a lot of invisible stuff needs to get attention. We get e-mails of people noting that our Trabant lacks glue-strips, why the hamburger-eating Emoticon isn't fat and the smoking one isn't thin or why we design at the for America uncomfortable A4-size. Stuff like that which we really want to fix. But our main goal is to broaden our collection with custom bears and additions to our excisting series, so it's safe to say that we think no new models will appear, but the collection will be reïnforced to a better quality. That should relieve the pressure on our side :)

To make it up to loyal you, we have this screensaver* to fresh up your desktop. It will be issued next month to 3000+ blog-administrators, but untill then it's exclusive only for family :)
